

MEET TEENA

Teena completed her Masters of Social Work (Clinical Specialization) from the University of Calgary in 2015, having received a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) in 2011.

She is currently a member of the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers, as a registered social worker (#3355) and adheres to the Canadian Association of Social Work Code of Ethics.
Teena has approximately fourteen years of combined experience working within the public sector and private, with eight direct years of clinical experience in Regina focused in the area of mental health services, as a psychotherapist. She has completed specialized training in the area of couples therapy and trauma, in addition to a number of training certificates outside of her graduate degree, to help individuals cope better.

She completed her Master of Social Work with 1000 hours of clinical practice (2015). Her clinical practice hours were in private practice with a Registered Doctoral Psychologist in Regina, with whom she provided couples therapy and individual therapeutic services. Additionally, she worked with individuals impacted by a range of mental health disorders at the Regina General Hospital.
Teena has helped improve functionality (symptoms) in those experiencing anxiety and depression with children and adults.
Furthermore, Teena is able to comprehend Hindi, and speak Punjabi fluently. She has completed extensive research in the area of migration and mental health well-being and understands the unique complexity of mental health issues that may arise within minority populations.
Teena’s approach to therapy is non-judgemental and compassionate. Each individual, couple, and family is unique and is treated therapeutically based on their personal needs and experiences. She believes a therapeutic relationship grounded in individualized goals is key to positive therapeutic outcomes.
Teena loves humour; finding time to laugh at life’s simples moments, with friends and family. Teena is passionate about travel, a "foodie", and loves to spend time with her family!
